Evaluating Your Leadership Style
The servant Leader seeks to help others enhance their skills, release their resources and reach their full potential in Christ.
-
A servant leader believes in other people's potential to lead. He/she is able to allow others to take the lead without standing over their shoulders to see if the job is done right.
-
A servant leader allows people room for failure. He/she realizes that failure is a normal, healthy part of personal growth and professional development and, as a result, does not overreact when it occurs.
-
A servant leader is process-oriented. He/she realizes that nothing worthwhile is achieved prematurely, and thus takes a long-range view toward the achievement of desired goals. Such leaders handle setbacks without becoming immobilized by discouragement.
-
A servant leader does not have people who work for him/her but those who work with him/her. He/she allows others to share in ministry, authority and rewards. The team is not working for the fulfillment of the leader's vision, but their vision together.
