WINTER YOUTH RETREAT/CYC POLICY

ACCIDENT INSURANCE - As parent/guardian, you will be responsible for any and all property damaged by your child when he/she is at camp. The C.E. Dept. provides secondary insurance coverage and will not be liable for any expenses beyond that which is covered by insurance.

ACTIVITIES - We offer a variety of recreational, cultural, and spiritual exercises to develop the person into the total person God wants him/her to be.

ADMISSION POLICY - Crusader Youth Camp is open to all who are willing to maintain the camp's Christian standard. We do not discriminate against any person regardless of race, color, or national origin.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES - On the day designated for the beginning of your weekend, you should arrive on the campus between 5:30 and 7:00 PM. The retreat ends at 11am on Sunday.

TELEPHONE CALLS - Campers are not permitted to make or receive phone calls while at Crusader Youth Camp.  We only have one phone and it is heavily used for business purposes.  In the event of an emergency, parents may speak with a director to have the message relayed. A seasonal phone is installed on the camp site.  The Camp phone number is 910-891-4236.

TUITION, DISCOUNTS & REFUNDS - Final payment of your tuition is due upon registration on the day the retreat begins. For accurate record keeping, an application MUST be filed for every camper. If your church is paying your way, a signed statement by the responsible party must be presented at registration. A refund of any unused portion of your tuition, less registration fees, will be given in the event a camper has to leave the camp because of injury, or a personal emergency which in the opinion of the director is beyond the camper or parent's control. No refund will be given when the camper leaves camp because of homesickness, discipline, family vacation, etc. No discount will be given for late arrivals.

VISITORS - CYC maintains a very active schedule. Therefore, off campus visitors are discouraged. When a visitor does come on campus, he/she must immediately check in with the Camp Director. All visitors must obey all camp rules and leave before lights out. A $4.00 donation for each meal would be appreciated. Food must not be brought on campus by visitors. Overnight visitors are not permitted without Camp Director's prior approval.

WINTER YOUTH RETREAT/CYC GUIDELINES

We expect everyone to live up to the Christian standard of behavior.

1. Camp Area - boundaries will be explained further in the orientation session. Once a person arrives on campus, he is not permitted to leave without the director's permission. Vehicles driven to camp must be parked in the designated area, locked, and not returned to until retreat ends.

2. Off limits -
a. Boys' room for the girls; girls' rooms for the boys
b. Parking lot during the camp schedule
c. Barn & riding area except in designated hours
d. Dining room, kitchen, classroom area and chapel, except as designated on schedule or work detail
e. Outside of cottage after lights out
f. Beyond ditch in wooded area, softball field, and beyond pasture toward college.

3. Social Contact - CYC is a great place to make new friends. However, we request no physical contact between members of the opposite sex.

4. Meals - Remember table etiquette at all times in dining hall. When you finish your meal, please put your trash in the proper place. Everyone is required to attend all meals.

5. Dress Code - Camper should note that this is a church camp and the dress code is conservative. We permit slacks and/or k nee length shorts for boys and girls. Shorts above the knees will not be permitted. Going without shirts, wearing halters, tank tops, or garments that leave a midriff section exposed, including see-through garments are not permitted. At no time should you be seen outside the cabin without clothing in keeping with this policy.

6. Everybody must:

1. Respect and cooperate with all staff members and campers.
2. Participate in the camp schedule, giving particular attention to being on time for each activity.
3. Do your fair share in keeping the grounds, room and equipment clean, in place, and workable at all times.

IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND ANY RULE OR NEED CLARIFICATION IN ANY WAY, PLEASE DISCUSS WITH YOUR COUNSELOR. IF YOU STILL HAVE QUESTIONS, THE DIRECTOR WELCOMES YOUR INQUIRY.

WINTER YOUTH RETREAT
2004

CRUSHING INSECURITY !!

Pictures

Location:
Crusader Youth Camp

Was Held:
Friday, February 20-22(Ages 15-17)
Friday, March 5-7 (Ages 12-14)

The retreat began on Friday evening at 5:30 PM and
ended at noon on Sunday.

220 of our youth, ages 12-17, participated in this Winter Youth Retreat 2004.

This year's retreat promised to be an action-packed, fun-filled, and most importantly of all, a life changing experience with the Creator of the Universe, Jesus Christ. Our theme this year is Crushing Insecurity.

Satan is a liar and one of the biggest lies he wants you to buy into is that a life of insecurity is your destiny. At Winter Youth Retreat our goal is to empower you to crush Satan's lies that hold you hostage to insecurity and help you develop a self-image based on truth.

For youth ages 15-17, WYR was held at CYC, February 20-22. For youth ages 12-14, it was held March 5-7.
