February 2008 Update – We are glad to announce that our “Happy Birthday Jesus Offering total is $30,907.66. We would like to thank every church and each individual who participated in this great offering. This offering will help meet a great number of needs in each of our foreign fields. If you haven’t sent in your HBJ we will close out the account in early March; so please send in your HBJ offering.

Find out what everyone wants ... buy the presents ... wrap the presents ... leave the presents under the tree until The Big Day ... everyone gets together, eats too much, and opens the Presents.

Does that pretty much describe Christmas each year for most people? Do you sometimes feel as though our celebration of Christmas is very much like the exercise routine of a pet hamster?

There is some good news and some bad news. The good news is “you can change that this Christmas and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg.” The bad news is “the hamster must keep on trucking.”

Give through HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS and turn The Big Day back into Christmas. Make it a family project and teach the children & grandchildren the true meaning of Christman.

Soon we will be celebrating the joys of the Christmas season. Many of us will enjoy decorating our homes, trimming the tree, and buying gifts for our family members and friends. You can remember him by being a part of the “Happy Birthday Jesus” offering. “Happy Birthday Jesus” is a special offering for world-wide missions. 100% of this offering will be given to special projects on foreign fields. Our goal this year is $30,000. We ask that each family give $5.00 per family member for this special offering. The Christmas Season is possibly the greatest of the year, especially for Christians. It is the time that we celebrate the birth of our Lord. Although the world has made Christmas to become very secular, it is hard for them to disregard the message of Isaiah 9:6, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder: And His name shall be Wonderful, Counselor, The Might God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Certainly the unbelieving centurion believed on Him in Matthew 27:54 when he said, “Truly this was the Son of God.”

Christmas is about presenting Christ to a world that is lost and causing the true message of Christmas to be born in the hearts of men. Each year, we seek to raise finances in our “Happy Birthday Jesus” offering. This offering goes to help build churches and buy property on our foreign fields. Our “Happy Birthday Jesus” goal is set at $30,000. We ask that each family member of the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church would give at least $5.00 to this most worthy project. Every dollar raised for “Happy Birthday Jesus” will go directly to projects on each field . Pastors, you are the key in helping us to raise the needed project funds for the “Happy Birthday Jesus” offering. We also will provide $5.00 coin-saver cards for the youth of your church.

The malls will be filled to capacity and the cash registers will be ringing joyful news to the store owners and managers. To some, Christmas is about finding the perfect gift. To the business world, Christmas is about sales and financial gain, but to Christians, Christmas is so much more!

During this busy season of buying gifts for family and friends, let’s not forget the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas is about God’s love for a lost world and God sending His only Son into the world to die for our sins.
