And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place... And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting...Acts 2:1-2

AZUSA STREET EAST PENTECOST CELEBRATION 2010

The annual joint Pentecost service was a great success with an estimated attendance of 1800 plus.  The Floyd D. Collins Mass Choir and the Breezewood Praise Team blessed the audience with music and Bishop Tim Hill preached a tremendous sermon.  The altar filled with young people seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit at the close of the message.   It was a great evening of fellowship and worship.

Next year’s Pentecost Sunday joint service will be on May 22, 2011.  I encourage everyone to mark your calendar for 2011.

Keynote Speaker: William A. Lee - Church of God International Evangelist

Pentecost Celebration Sunday, held on May 31, 2009, was a great success. This year’s invited speaker was Bishop William Lee from the Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee.  The denominational leaders have worked with us again to have a great line-up of singing and worship.  I encourage our pastors and churches to block your calendars for the fifth Sunday in May as we join with other Pentecostal denominations to celebrate one of the cornerstones of our doctrine. More information may be obtained by calling our office.

CHARLES HEATH DAY

Pastor Ted Mercer and the Burgaw Holiness Church sponsored a Charles Heath Day on August 15, 2004. Pastor Mercer felt led of the Holy Spirit to sponsor the special occasion that caught the Regional director by total surprise. Representatives from each church were Reverend Heath had served as pastor, ministers from various districts, friends and family members were in attendance. Special recognition was given to Charles and Brenda for the exceptional ministry they have unselfishly given to our churches, ministers and individuals through the years. Only heaven will fully reveal the impact of their ministry to others. Gifts of love from various churches and individuals were presented by Pastor Mercer to the Heaths. Following the exciting and meaningful service, the church provided a beautiful meal in honor of the Heaths and all the guests. My prayer is that God will continue to give servants in His Kingdom such as Charles and Brenda Heath. A special “thank you” to Pastor Mercer and the Burgaw Holiness Church for a gracious act of recognition given to God's Servants.
