“... In the middle of the garden he placed the tree of Life. ...”
- Genesis 2:9 (NLT)

Our Resource Center was built in 1974 and has served the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist denomination well. The time is overdue to do the repairs, remodeling, and additions to better serve the current and future needs of our churches and ministries.

Just as God placed the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden, we will place a symbolic Tree of Life in the new Resource Center to honor those individuals, sunday school classes, and churches who participate financially in building it.

Contributions have risen to $203,666.38. Let’s keep the opportunity before our people to purchase leaves and acorns on the tree. A leaf is $250.00 and an acorn is $1000.00. Either a leaf or acorn may be purchased in payments and will be a lasting memorial to a loved one or friend. It is my goal to see every church and minister have either an acorn or leaf on the Tree of Life. If you have not visited the office and seen the beautiful tree in the foyer, you owe it to yourself and the people of your church to come by and see it.

In April, the New River District Camp Meeting at Piney Grove PFWB Church contributed $2,155.39 to the Tree of Life Capital Fund Raising Campaign from the meetings. All the churches in the district participated in the annual camp meeting.

“We must rebuild the Resource Center to better serve our people.”
-Preston Heath, General Superintendent

Most people looking at the Conference Resource Center think it was built from scratch. What actually happened was the old building literally became the core of the new building. You can be sure our contractor Jimmy Williams used more than WD-40 and Duck Tape to accomplish that feat.

We had an open house and dedication of the new Resource Center Facilities on Sunday July 29th. If you haven't already had the chance, we encourage all churches to visit their new facility. We encourage our pastors to assist us by leading the members or our churches across the denomination to attend.

Recently, someone asked if all of the leaves on the Tree of Life have been purchased. Of course the answer was not yet. While leaves are being purchased each week, some who planned to purchase a leaf in memory or honor of a loved one have not completed their goal. Now is a great time to follow through with your plans. Share with others the opportunity to participate in the Tree of Life Campaign. All of these funds go directly into a special account for debt retirement.

Tree of Life Awaits You
-by General Superintendent Preston Heath
-From May 2007 Messenger Publication

Walking into the front of the new PFWB Resource Center, you will immediately see a symbolic “Tree of Life” reflecting all the people who have thus far contributed a minimum of $250 or more to the capital fund raising campaign for the new Resource Center.

More personal and sentimental to the contributor will be the name(s) on the “Tree of Life” of loved ones and special people in the contributor’s life. Your special love offering, honoring and memorializing loved ones and special people, makes it possible for their names to be placed on the “Tree of Life” in the highest visible location within the Resource Center.

The goal for the symbolic “Tree of Life” is multi-purposed. First, it will provide needed funds not included in the budget for the construction of new facilities. As many know the staff had to move out of the former facilities built in 1974 due to a deadly black mold fungus. For the last three and one-half years they served patiently in inadequate quarters dreaming of this day. Second, the PFWB Church wanted all the people of our denomination to be able to participate in the construction of a building that will serve them and the ministries of this church. The minimum $250 per leaf is a dollar amount within reach of all the people. An individual may contribute on a monthly plan as personal funds will permit. Third, the“Tree of Life” makes it possible for Sunday school classes, youth groups, individuals, families, churches, and districts to jointly participate in and reflect on the strong unity among our people. Fourth, the “Tree of Life” provides a place to sow seeds in a larger field of ministry.

The updated facility will continue to minister through the youth, the college, foreign missions, and to each of our churches. Seed sown into the resource center facilities will definitely increase our personal harvest. Only God knows how far this denomination reaches in ministry. Every contributor will be a part of the harvest and accomplishments of this ministry.
The Regional Directors and the General Superintendent have been visiting churches all this year presenting the concept of the “Tree of Life.” We thank each pastor and congregation for cooperating and giving at the time of our visit. There were many who took a brochure with plans to follow up with contributions honoring and memorializing loved ones. The goal is to have the names of those received early enough imprinted on the “Tree of Life” before our open house and formal dedication to be held during the week of camp meeting.

Those churches we have not visited will be given an opportunity for memberships to participate as soon as we can schedule our Regional Directors and me. If you need a form or assistance before we visit your church, you may call 888-668-9362. Please pray for the “Tree
of Life” campaign and that there will be those who will be led to make substantial donations to the Resource Center Capital Fund Raising Campaign.
