Rev. Jerome and Gwen Bullard planted a new church in the Leland community which is about 10 miles south of Wilmington, NC. This is one of the areas that the Church Planting Task Force envisioned for a new church. Brother Jerome answered God’s call after many months of prayer. The church was first called “Bridge Builders Outreach” and later changed to "Bridge of Life Community Church". Jerome reports that the area has developed four large subdivisions and that nearly 10,000 new homes are being built in the area. This county is one of the fastest growing counties in North Carolina.

GROWTH

Pastor Jerome and Gwen Bullard were very pleased when Bridge of Life Community Church held its first service on Sunday, September 3rd, 2006 with forty five in attendance. In three short years they have grown to 125 in average attendance.

Pastor Jerome and Gwen Bullard are excited to see God continually doing the unexpected in bringing the church more and more into His perfect purpose. Jerome is an instrument in God’s hand to develop this new work in Leland, NC. He is full time in the ministry of the church. Jerome and Gwen started in a school for 3 months with a Bible study on Wednesday evenings. Their goal was to form a group before launching Sunday Morning worship. After 3 months the first Sunday morning celebration service was launched. For the next 3 years they worshipped in the school. While they are thankful for the opportunity to use the school facilities, it was an exciting time when they moved to their current location in June 2009.

Pastor Jerome's music is contemporary with a Praise team composed of 8 people.  The traditional piano, organ are not used but rather a keyboard, electric guitar, bass guitar and drums.  World Witness Director, Dock Hobbs, has worked with Church Planter Jerome Bullard in seeing this ministry develop from only a dream beginning with Jerome and Gwen to a passionate thriving ministry. 

AUGUST 2009 UPDATE

The Bridge of Life Community Church in Leland, N. C. met on August 9, 2009 for their official dedication of new facilities.  Pastor Jerome Bullard founded this church in June of 2006 with approximately 25 people in attendance and at the time of the dedication in August 2009 there were nearly 200 were in attendance. The new facility provides a seating capacity of 225. It is Pastor Jerome’s dream to acquire more space in the current building for rapid growth in attendance.  Last week Pastor Jerome and the church acquired a lease giving them 2500 additional square feet in the same facility for a fellowship hall and other activities. The miracle of a new church has happened in Leland, N. C. The momentum felt during the morning worship lets anyone in attendance know God is up to something in the Leland area. Congratulations to Jerome, Gwen, and the congregation on living out a vision for God. 

JUNE 2009 UPDATE

Rev. Jerome Bullard reports that the Bridge of Life Community Church has recently moved into a newly leased building. The 5000 square foot building has a 220 seat sanctuary.  Some members commented that it was great to worship in a “permanent” setting.  The physical address for the new building is:

DECEMBER 2008 UPDATE

Bridge of Life Community Church is still experiencing growth and blessing, they are averaging over ninety people each week and recently baptized seven individuals. Pastor Jerome Bullard reports that many have been saved recently and that two more have been saved since their water baptism service. Also recently Pastor Jerome had a heart attack and will be undergoing heart surgery on December 8th. Please keep him in your prayers during surgery and recovery.
