After returning from Church Planter's Boot Camp in Oklahoma, Rev. Paul Monticenos and wife Deborah worked hard in planting the New Century PFWB Church located at the Interstate 40/42 exchange in Johnston County, which is near Raleigh. This area has had explosive growth over the past 10 years and is a great choice for a church plant. The Cleveland School Community at the intersection of I-40 and Highway 42, is a fast growing area with more potential than the mind can conceive.

New Century PFWB Church had their first celebration worship on Sunday, September 14th, 2003 at the Hampton Inn, with approximately 55-60 people in attendance. Rev. Paul Montecinos and wife Deborah, had a well planned service and were elated with the turn out. An “on-target” message was preached by Pastor Paul. New faces from the community were there for the first service. Pastor and Mrs. Paul Montecinos were elated with the turn out. One week prior to the first public service, nearly 15,000 cards were mailed to the community announcing the first service.

As of September 2003, the church reported around 30 in attendance each Sunday. They also gave local license to Marty Tew.

As of September 2005, the church reported they had grown to have 11 families attending with a strong Men’s Fellowship every Thursday night which is based on prayer for the community and the church. They also have a thriving CD ministry in which every service is recorded and CDs are provided for guests and members and are also mailed upon request. They established a building fund and are in need of another location to hold services and Brother Paul requests your prayers for this.

In June 2007, Rev. Paul Montecinos reported that the church is growing and he is working with a Bible study group in the Dunn area and some members of the group attend New Century.

These churches and other individuals were instrumental in touching the community through knocking on doors, and sending cards into the community. Thanks also to Savannah Hill PFWB Church who had a yard sale on October 25th, 2003 to help promote the Youth Ministries at New Century Church.
