Well, it’s hard to believe this year has went by so quickly! God has been so good to us this year and I want to just praise Him! For us, as Christians, this is a very special time in that we reflect back on the AWESOME LOVE that God has for us. He GAVE His Son that we may have eternal life. Jesus paid the price for us all and that is what Christmas is all about to me—celebrating Jesus and the sacrifices He made for us. What an awesome God we serve!!

It is also a time to remember the blessings that God has given us. I am sure that many of us that read this newsletter have a home to live in, a job, a car, etc. We may or may not have the nicest of things, but we are blessed nevertheless.

There are many around the world that are much less fortunate than us.

We don't give a second thought to getting in our car and driving on nice roads and attending our climate - controlled church that has the niceties of running water, bathrooms, pews, Sunday school rooms and kitchens, fellowship halls and even something as simple as electricity for lights! There are MANY around the world that are not as fortunate as us…

Why does God bless us? First I believe it is because He loves us! We all want to be a blessing to our children, right? But, I believe there is another reason also. That reason is so that we can, in turn, be a blessing also to others. Proverbs 22:9 (NIV) says, “A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.“

How can we “share our food with the poor”?

We can do that by GIVING to those less fortunate. I have dedicated this issue of MISSIONS: NORTHERN PHILIPPINES to sharing with you some of the needs that I have witnessed—in particular, that of the PIONEERING CHURCHES and their pastors and congregations.

These are people who have the call of God on them and set out to reach an area for Christ—usually with no financial assistance. I want to share with you some of the fields in the Philippines that desperately need your help.

However, it is not just in the Philippines… I recently traveled to Mexico to the mother church there and saw needs. These needs are all over our foreign fields.

I encourage you to read this, pray and to also be a part of the solution by giving (remember, Faith without works is dead).

One very easy way to do that is to sponsor a pioneering project within this newsletter either individually or as a church. Also, be a supporter of the HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS 2007 offering this year which helps with project needs for all of our fields! You can be a blessing not only to your family here, but make a difference in God’s kingdom around the world.

PFWB Missionary — Northern Philippines

Very soon, there will be a short 5 minute video and brochures sent out to all PFWB churches for the Happy Birthday Jesus 2007 offering. This year, you can help make this a huge success in your church by working with your leadership to schedule a time when the video can be shown to the congregation and the brochures can be given out.

Funds raised through the Happy Birthday Jesus offering are distributed to various project needs on the PFWB mission fields around the
world with 100% of the funds going for project needs, such

as church buildings, renovations, roofs, land purchases, etc.

HBJ 2007 would make a great missions presentation for your church! For more information, please contact the World Missions Department or the Resource Center. Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!
