It’s hard to believe that the months have moved by so quickly! Here we find ourselves past the Christmas season and nearing Easter where we celebrate the glorious resurrection of our Lord, Jesus! When I think about how time moves so quickly, I am reminded of the scripture in James 4:14 which says, “What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes” (NIV)!

We truly are here for a season and as with all seasons, they change and come to an end. But the greatness of this is that even though a season can end, if we belong to Christ, there is yet another season! A GLORIOUS and WONDERFUL eternity that awaits us.

That’s what Easter is really all about to me… God sent His Son Jesus to take the sins of the world and die for us. To stand in the gap…

Because Jesus died and most importantly, ROSE AGAIN, we have the assurance that we can go on and have a place in eternity if we accept Him. In speaking of His return, Jesus said in Luke 24:36 that No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

He talks about the need to be ready—to KEEP WATCH because we don't know what hour or day the Lord will come. He says we need to be ready. How do we stay ready? First of all, we must maintain our relationship with Him. We must belong to Him and we must communicate to and with Him.

We must also OCCUPY. Do you recall the story in Luke 19:11-27 about the King’s 10 Servants. Jesus was saying here that we all have been given excellent resources to build God’s kingdom and He expects us to use them wisely so the kingdom grows.

He also expects us to be accountable for what we do with His gifts. In other words, He expects us all to do Christ’s work while we wait for His return.

During this Easter season, I encourage you to remember the great sacrifice that was made on our behalf by Jesus Himself. I also encourage you to remember that because of this sacrifice, we have hope for today, tomorrow and the future! Jesus died for our sins that we might have eternal life. Isn’t that exciting today?! If you think that is exciting and if you are thankful, wouldn't you want to share that with others?

If we take this wonderful truth and do nothing with it, we are like the servant in the scripture who did nothing with his mina. It didn't multiply, didn't get invested… Just sat there. Please, share your gift! God bless you.

God bless,
