Missions sometimes can look like a glorified trip or can be viewed as a vacation by some people. However, real missions work is essential to the growth of God’s kingdom. It does have its advantages in which people can see different parts of the world and experience different cultures but it also has its other side. For every glamorous part of it, there is also the dangers of traveling in the world today. It is not a safe world that we live in. I go through a lot of spiritual battles when it is time to get on the plane to go over to the Philippines. It’s not easy leaving the comforts and familiarity of home, family and friends… As a matter of fact it is the most difficult thing that I do.

We don’t realize the comforts that are given up when we embark on a MISSION. Hot, humid climates… foods that we are not used to… the language barriers—different cultures and ways of doing things. It is a great adjustment each time. It is definitely not glamorous—BUT it is necessary.

So, why missions? Because Jesus himself gave the Great Commission. GO… We need to build God’s kingdom here and to the uttermost parts of the world. All of us— by going, praying and/or helping in whatever way we can. Missions is the mechanism that God created to grow the church and He wants each of us to be a part of it.

I always want to share with you about needs that you and/or your congregation can help with in the Philippines. I personally feel that each church should be involved in local missions here at home and foreign missions abroad. I believe that is what the Lord calls us to as a body of believers to help penetrate the world with His word and His love. If you would like to help, please consider one of the projects below. If you or your church helps, we’ll ensure that you get pictures and updates to share the progress.

Please send donations earmarked for the project to our World Witness Missions department and they will see it gets to the Philippines or you can donate online. Thanks so much for your help. God bless… Ray
