Lanques PFWB Church service held in the mountain region of Ilocos Sur, Philippines

Many times we can take even the simplest of things for granted. For example, how many classes or seminars have we attended that had nice Xeroxed handouts? If you are like me, you certainly appreciated them because it helped reinforce the teaching that we were receiving.

In addition, it was great because we could make notes and take them home to use for further study. We just always have them when we have any type of training.

Imagine, if we went to the Arby Carter lectures and we had no handouts…. No programs… No materials…

Now, I am sure that the handouts would not keep the Lord from moving, but as you know it is really a great enhancement to the learning experience.

The PFWBC - Philippines has no copier and no budget for copies for seminars, discipleship and training. As I talked to the board and also to many of the pastors, I was told that having nice handouts like “they have in America” would be such a blessing! A really good heavy duty copier can be purchased there for less than $2000. The value to the ministers however would be priceless.

If you or your church are looking for a worthy cause to help with, this would be one that would have great impact on the ministers and members in the Philippines and the quality of the Christian education experience.

What an exciting day! The First Annual Missionary-Pastors Conference was held on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Harvesters Bible Academy. There were nearly 100 people in attendance including PFWBC pastors from Districts 1 and 2 as well as the students from the bible college.

The conference was opened up with prayer by the National Overseer, Rev. Leonido Bacolod followed by praise and worship with the Harvesters Praise & Worship team.

Rev. Joseph Benigno, president of HBC and the National Leader for the works in the Northern Philippines shared with the people also.

Rev. Ray Davis, missionary, cast the vision before the people and shared on church growth and leadership development.

The evening ended under the mango trees where the whole group enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Sis. Feliza Leweng and the ladies at Harvesters.

The pastors had a chance to ask questions and to share their thoughts about direction for the future.

God moved in a mighty way and the people left encouraged and renewed.
