Church Planting News
Hispanic Ministries
Project Needs

Thank YouNick Sicat and Joseph Benigno would like to express to each church and each pastor that invited them to visit their churches their appreciation for the project needs that you helped to make this year. God has blessed the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with some wonderful missionaries on each of our fields. When you meet missionaries like Nick Sicat and Joseph Benigno you get to see the faithfulness and commitment that our missionaries have in reaching our world to Christ. Please pray that God will open more doors as these men minister and lead the works in the Philippines.

Joseph Seiberehas been speaking throughout our organization since the end of August in several of our churches. He has been so blessed by the faithfulness of people and the commitments that have already been made to the work of God in Nigeria. He will leave to go back to Nigeria on September 30 th. Joseph would like to express his appreciation for your invitation to your church and the commitments that have been made to the work in Nigeria. Of course there are some great difficulties in Nigeria with radical Moslems and some officials of the government but God is still moving in a special way. Please continue to pray for the Spirit of God to move upon this nation in revival and spiritual renewal.

Church Planting NewsLynn McLaurin reports that they have finished with all the permits and they will soon begin their new church building on Highway 13 just north of Wade N.C. Since they started their church three years ago in a small community building that they had to refurbish God has blessed the church to grow. The average attendance has largely been in the 80’s in a building that should only seat about 60 people comfortably. They have already purchased some of the material to build a 400 seat sanctuary.

Please pray that South River Community Church will be greatly blessed spiritually and that the building program will go smoothly.

Hispanic MinistriesOur Hispanic Churches have had several services recently that God has greatly blessed. Rev. Charles Heath attended the services at the Tabernacle where several hundred gathered to worship God. On September 27 th they will have a unity service at the Woods Grove Church near Goldsboro Brother Heath stated that they truly worship the Lord with all their might and strength. We would like to thank the Woods Grove Church for opening its doors to a Hispanic group that meets there weekly to worship God. This group has become a PFWB Church though the guidance of Pastor Mike Grady and the Hispanic pastor Rev. Arnulfo Gomez. One way that you might reach the Hispanics in your community is to offer them a place to worship on Sunday afternoon or on a weeknight. Let our office know that you desire to do so and we will help you develop a new Hispanic congregation at your church.

Missions Giving Awards

Trip to NicaraguaOn August 11th through August 18th two youth groups joined together for a trip to Nicaragua. Anthony Smith led a group from the Western Branch Church and Tommy Colie led a group from Christian Life Fellowship Church. These two groups joined together to minister at ten different churches and to help with construction of two churches. The two youth pastors spoke at several services and events. The group did special music and testified at these meetings. They were touched greatly by the people of Nicaragua, but our Nicaraguan friends were touched by these two youth groups as well. We would like to thank Pastor Jim Wall and Pastor Errett Marshburn and their congregations for helping make this missions trip possible.

Nick Sicat and Joseph Benigno have been received warmly by many of our churches. Many project needs have been met. We thank our churches and our pastors for receiving these leaders into our churches. You have greatly blessed the fields that they represent.

Please pray for God’s rich blessings upon our travel, the work and our evangelism work. Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in Central America but the people are full of the joy of the Lord. Pray for many souls to be saved and individuals to experience the fullness of the Lord’s Spirit in their lives during this week.

MexicoSister Lupita Martinez reports that God is blessing the ministry in Mexico. Her son’s church has moved into a larger facility which will seat 700 to 800 people. They have been in revival and the services have been awesome.

All Our Foreign Fields need your prayers for God’s will to be done in each of the nations that we have churches. The Bible says that we are to pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send forth labors into the harvest. NEWS FROM THE FIELD

Venezuela - Our leaders from Venezuela report that all is going well and that the work continues forward. They have recently purchased a small boat and are making some repairs to the Ranger. All the pastors from Venezuela send greetings and ask that we would continue to pray for them and the work. The boat will be used to help with the ministry among the Warao Indians. There are great needs for churches to be built and many other needs throughout Venezuela. Our leader there is Monico Sublet and he desires that we would continue to pray about project needs for the country.

Nicaragua Urgent Request - National Director Johnny Padilla reports that his wife Anita has been diagnosed with a terminal liver disease for which there is no cure. Her only hope would be a liver transplant, unless the Lord heals her. Please pray for God to heal her. She is one of our pastors and has hosted leaders from the United States in her home for years. She is now in the hospital and needs our urgent prayers.

Guatemala - National Director Roman Gonzales reports that God is blessing in Guatemala. He and his wife Socorro have recently moved to a new location called Canalitos to start a new church. They are in need of $1,200 for chairs, $900 for water, $240 each month for rent, and they need $20,000 for land to build a church. It is very expensive to rent properties and purchase land in Guatemala.

URGENT REQUEST IN THE NORTHERN PHILIPPINES

We received an email from Joseph Benigno sharing this news. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in the Philippines.

We have just experienced a destructive typhoon that have cost the lives of about 30 people and the destruction of thousands of homes. I am glad that the eye of the typhoon did not exactly hit the area where our Bible College is located and that we do not have churches in areas that suffered so much. This is only the third typhoon and we are still expecting more typhoons as we have an average of 25 typhoons a year. More destructive typhoons come during the month of August and September.

These typhoons will cause more hardships for it destroys rice ready for harvest and we have a daily line of people trying to buy 2 kilos of rice from the government selling imported rice from Thailand and from the USA. The government limits what they sell to the people(two kilos) to avoid hoarding. We have such a shortage of rice and flour that the price of rice and flour has doubled. I am just praying that the Lord will give us wisdom in how to operate the Bible College.

PhilippinesRev. John Sauls, Pastor of Crossroads Church in Broadway N.C., and World Witness Director Dock Hobbs recently returned from the Philippines. They visited the works in Mindanao where they attended a graduation for our school in Davao City and also visited our school in Valencia City. We have a total of eight schools in the Southern Philippines. Nick and Carman Sicat have worked hard to develop these schools to be Christian schools that are also used to reach the youth and their parents for Christ. Each of these schools is also church/schools that are reaching their communities for Christ with the gospel. They met with our pastors from many of the churches across Mindanao and Pastor John Sauls shared the need for vision to these pastors. Our Lord is truly blessing our leader Nick Sicat and the many pastors that work under him.

During this trip, they visited Palawan in which we have ten churches. They visited one of our newest churches there in a place call El Nido. A meeting was held with the all our pastors there. The work is continuing to grow in Palawan and God is doing a mighty work there.

While in Luzon they meet with our students from Harvesters Bible Academy and with the pastors and their wives for a two day conference which started at 8:30 am and concluded at 5:30 p.m. On the first evening Pastor John Sauls spoke in the Baccalaureate sermon on Tuesday evening and Rev. Dock Hobbs spoke for the graduation service. Thirteen students graduated from the college this year.

Pictured above: The 2008 Graduating Class of Harvester’s Bible College, Mr. Billy Cavenaugh, Rev. Dock Hobbs, and Rev. John Sauls.

Hawaii– Rev. Hobbs and Rev. Sauls visited the church of Rev. Philip Buenavista on the Big Island which is called Hawaii. The church there was started by Rev. Buenavista several years ago. Brother Philip has had a relationship with the PFWB Church for over thirty years, but just recently rejoined us as an ordained minister. There were two evening services in which three new converts were added to the church. Since that trip, the church has decided to join the PFWB and we are excited to have them become a part of our church family. Please keep this ministry in your prayers and the work in Hawaii.

Rev. John Sauls speaks to the congregation of the church in Hawaii.

GuatemalaBrother Roman Gonzales reports that they have added two new churches in Guatemala this year. They have several projects needs that are pressing: 1) They need 100 chairs that will cost $1200; 2) an amplifier for the church that cost $300. They also need $20,000 to purchase some land to build a church. You can make a donation on the World Witness Projects page.

Missionaries Birthdays

SAD BUT TOUCHINGThey attended our new church plant in Leland led by Pastor Jerome Bullard, the Bridge of Life Church. They were challenged to give to the Happy Birthday Jesus Offering in November of 2007. Sadly, Anthony, age eight, and his brother Tyler, age six, lost their lives in a home fire in early December of 2007. Other family members were also seriously injured in the fire. I happened to be at the church the Sunday after their funeral. It was with great emotion that their grandmother brought their Happy Birthday Jesus coin cards, filled with their gifts to the church. I thought of how this gift would bring salvation of others on foreign fields. Many were touched by the events of this family, but I am also sure that their act touched the heart of God. What great rewards shall they receive for their generosity!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUSThus far over twenty-five thousand has come in for the Happy Birthday Jesus offering. We encourage each church member to send in these funds so that we can help meet the many needs on our foreign fields. These funds will help us to build churches; purchase property to build churches and complete buildings that still need completion.

CHURCH PLANTSduring the month of December, I was able to visit WakePointe Church in Wake Forest and their pastor Randy Carter; South River Community Church in the Wade area and their pastor Lynn McLaurin; and Bridge of Life Church in the Leland N.C. area and their pastor Jerome Bullard. God was blessing each of these churches in a wonderful way. Robbie Gilbert reports that God is continuing to bless Victory Community Church in Clinton. Also I spoke to a member of New Century Church at 40/42 and God is continuing to bless the work there.

Please continue to pray for each of our church plants as they seek to win the lost to Christ.

ADDRESS CHANGEIf you in the Stafford Va. area and would like to visit Hosanna Fellowship, there new address is 2049 Jefferson Davis Highway, Stafford, Va. 22554. Their pastor, Theresa Ramsey, encourages anyone visiting the area to come and worship with them. Pastor Ramsey announces that they have launched a new Hispanic Ministry at their church.

BURGAW HOLINESSrecently gave a gift to the Northern Philippines to build two churches. The gift for the two churches totaled $4225.00. We are so thankful for the gift that will help two congregations to build a place to worship.
