Southern PhilippinesOn May 7th we were made aware that our missionary to the Southern Philippines Reverend Nick Sicat had experienced a heart attack. The heart attack did some damage but we are not sure of the full extent of the damage it may have done to his heart.  He is at his daughter’s home in Chicago, Illinois at the present time.  He has an appointment in early July with a Primary Physician at a Veterans Hospital and then possibly a cardiologist.  We have kept in contact with Brother Sicat and his family. He sends his regards and asks that you would continue to pray for him.  His greatest interest is the missions work in the Southern Philippines and the new work that has begun in Indonesia.    Please continue to keep him and his family in your prayers.  It is still in his plans to be here in late July and August and he would like to visit your church to share his vision for missions outreach in Asia. If you would like for Brother Sicat to come to your church please contact Dock Hobbs or Amy Murphy at 1-888-668-9362 or 910-892-4161.

Project Request for Indonesia – Pastor Arthur Maanarineeds help with the purchase of land to build a church.  Nick Sicat is working directly with this brother to help start churches in Indonesia.  The cost is enormous for land and a building.  The government will not allow churches to rent a building for the purpose of having church.  They require the local church to have their own land and put a church building on the property.  It would take $20,000 to purchase the land.

Guatemala RequestThey need to purchase land that has just become available behind the mother church in Guatemala City.  The cost of the property is $10,000.  If you would like to help with this project please contact Dock Hobbs or Amy Murphy at 1-888-668-9362 or 910-892-4161.

Northern PhilippinesIt is a great joy to announce that Joseph Benigno will be with us again in late July and the early part of August.  God has continued to bless Harvester’s Bible College under his leadership.  Recently Joseph planted a church near the college that is experiencing great growth. Brother Benigno would love to share his vision for the college and the works in the Northern Philippines.  If you would like for Joseph to visit your church while he is here please contact Dock Hobbs or Amy Murphy at 1-888-668-9362 or 910-892-4161.

Camp Meeting– our Annual Camp Meeting will be held July 25th through August 1st.  Be sure to speak to our National Leaders at camp meeting. They will be happy to meet you and answer any questions you might have. We look forward to this time of fellowship and worship together.

Southern PhilippinesOn May 7th we were made aware that our missionary to the Southern Philippines Reverend Nick Sicat had experienced a heart attack. The heart attack did some damage but we are not sure of the full extent of the damage it may have done to his heart.  He is at home at this time, but will be back in the hospital on May 24th to have a heart angioplasty to determine if putting a stint will work for Brother Sicat. We have kept in constant contact with Brother Sicat and his family.  Please continue to keep him and his family in your prayers.  It is still in his plans to be here in late July and August and he would like to visit your church to share his vision for missions outreach in Asia.

Prayeris so important for each of our works at home and abroad.  We ask that you would continue to remember the leaders and the works on every field that we serve. Especially remember Johnny Padilla our National Director in Nicaragua as he is still recovering from the loss of his wife in December of 2009.  Also remember the family of our previous National Director in Venezuela, Monico Soublet, who also died in December of 2009. It is very difficult for Sister Soublet to carry on without her husband.  Every field that we are reaching is worthy of our prayers for the work of the ministry and the outreach not only in the country in which they serve, but also the extended works into other nations in which they are reaching.

NigeriaJoseph Siebere request that we would help build two rooms onto two of our churches as parsonages.  These two rooms may not seem much to you but they will help these pastors as they reach their communities for Christ.  Also pray for this country which faces great persecution from Muslim radicals.  Many Christians have died for their faith in Nigeria.  In the past decade more than 10,000 Christians have been slaughtered and more than 1,000 churches have been burned to the ground.  This is taking place in the northern half of Nigeria where the Muslims are mostly situated.  This is less than 200 miles from where most of our churches are located.  Also Joseph and his wife Lucky who have four children have a small rental home. It would bring great joy to him and his wife if some church would commit to building them a home.  The cost of the house and land would be under $15,000.

PhilippinesWorld Witness Director Dock Hobbs just returned from the Philippines in mid April.  He was able to visit several of the islands while ministering to various congregations throughout the Philippines and speaking at the graduations in the Southern Philippines and Northern Philippines.

Southern Philippines which is led by Rev. Nick and Carman Sicat had three graduations with the schools that we support in the south. There are a total of eight schools in the south. Each of the schools had excellent programs and awards were given to the students for their achievements.  The school at Calinan, only about a forty minute drive from Davao City, had six students to graduate.  A second school that is nearby, that is led by Pastor Rara, did not have any graduates but they joined with several other of our schools in a celebration that honored their students for academics and spiritual growth.  The third school is about three hours away. This church/school was built by Randall’s Chapel Church near Newton Grove.  They also have a large attendance that is growing each year.

While in the Southern Philippines, Rev. Hobbs visited a newly formed church that was planted in a community call Badjao less than one year ago.  This church is built in a Moslem community and the pastor reports that attendance has already grown to nearly 150 each Sunday.  Nick, Carman and Brother Hobbs made an unannounced visit on Dock’s first Saturday in the Philippines and within ten minutes had over eighty-five children and their parents at the church.  One dream of Nick and Carman is to develop a school at this church to educate the children of the community.  By the way, Nick has renamed the community “Goodjao”!

Nick and Dock also visited our work in Cebu where they met with the Pastor Ramial Jawili and his family.  This pastor and his wife have a growing church and school.  They need an addition built to their church to expand the church. The cost to add a 20’ extension “roof only” is about $600.00 The roof will give shade to those who cannot fit into the church.  If you would like to help with this project contact Amy Murphy or Dock Hobbs at the Resource Center at 1-888-668-9362 or donate online.

After leaving Cebu they visited the churches in Palawan where a new church was dedicated at Narra. We have twelve churches on this island and they spent two days in meetings and services at the new church.

Northern Philippines – Before going to the work in Luzon they had to spend a day and a half in Manila due to the Easter weekend.  On Good Friday there is very little commerce and all the bus lines that travel to the north, where Harvesters Bible Academy is located in Candon, were closed.  The buses were so loaded it took over ten hours to travel to the college on Saturday after Good Friday.  They were able to visit two churches and speak on Easter Sunday.  The morning started early and they returned back to the college late that evening.  Rev. Hobbs was able to spend time with the newly elected director of the work in the Northern Philippines. Rev, Renarto Mendoza in the afternoon of that Sunday.  The vision is to continue to build and plant new churches in the north.

Our graduation at Harvesters included six graduates and six more students that will do one year of internships at various churches. Each of the graduates’ plans are to go and plant new churches and to win the people of the Philippines to Christ. Continue to pray for all the works in the Philippines and all the pastors.  They sacrifice much for the cause of Christ.

NigeriaDock Hobbs just recently talked with Joseph Siebere. He is requesting that we would help build two rooms onto two churches as places for their pastors to live and minister.  The cost will be about $2,000 for each church. If interested you can donate online for this project.

MexicoWorld Witness Director, Dock Hobbs, Rev. Randy Carter of the Rolesville PFWB Church, and Rev. Janet Barrett, also of the Rolesville  Church, have just returned from Guadalajara Mexico. They attended the PFWB Annual Church Conference in Mexico. Each service was filled with powerful worship, praise, and preaching. Services would begin at 5:00pm and last till 10:30pm. They visited several churches and spoke at their Sunday morning worship service. Our two largest churches in Mexico have seen much growth and they have 500 plus in their churches. Continue to pray for God to bless all of our churches in Mexico.

Nigeriaon March 7, 2010 more than one hundred Christian villagers were killed by Muslim extremists in Dogo-Nahawa village near Jos. The attacks went on for four hours. Buildings were also set on fire. Most of the dead were women and children. One of the dead was an infant less than three months of age. Corpses were dumped in the streets. The death toll was reported as more than 300, then was later updated to over 500. Hundreds more left the village in case the attackers returned. This is a portion of a recent news report. Over the past decade more than 10,000 Christians have been killed, and over 1,000 churches have been burned by Al Quida. Our churches and our ministers in these areas need your  prayers.

Southern PhilippinesWorld Witness Director Dock Hobbs will be in the Philippines March 22nd – April 10th. Pray that God’s blessings will flow in all the services and that lives will be changed. Brother Hobbs will participate in a Graduation service for the schools in the Southern Philippines and the College Graduation at Harvesters Bible College. Remember all our pastors and churches in the Philippines.

Northern PhilippinesBelow are photos of a new church that was recently finished in Candon. The pastor is Rev. Joseph Benigno at the present time.

HaitiSam Thomas, Bill Hicks and his daughter, Scarlett Stowe from the North Haven Church in Raleigh recently traveled to Haiti to minister and work with a team of about 50 people. Most of these volunteers were medical personnel. You may have seen some members of this group on WRAL News. Mr. Thomas testified of many opportunities to share Jesus with the Haitian people, as well as give them the medical assistance they so desperately need. Please continue to keep the people of Haiti in your prayers. A lot has been accomplished in Haiti but there is so much more that needs to be done. The PFWB Church recently sent $35,725 to help with the relief effort in Haiti. Thank you so much for your generosity.

Mexico– Several from the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church will be traveling to Mexico March 11th – 15th for their annual conference.  This conference will last for three days and is a delight to attend. Pray as we minister the Word of God in this conference, that God will use us to be a part of a mighty move of God in Mexico.

HaitiWe would like to thank each church who has participated in giving $22,426.46 to the Haiti Relief Fund.  This will be a true blessing to the people and churches of Haiti.  Also I would like to report that several members of the North Haven Church are in Haiti at this time helping in the relief effort.  They have joined several doctors, nurses, and pharmacists from counties including Sampson, Wayne and Wake in this effort.  WRALTV has been reporting from Haiti and the interviews are with the group that the North Haven members are a part of.

DSCN0005.JPGVenezuelaRev. Randy Carter and World Witness Director returned from Venezuela on February 22nd.  They met to put together a new leadership team and new National Director.  The choice of the people was to continue with the current leadership team and we placed Rev. Auristela Cermeno (pictured) as the new National Director until August 2012.  Please pray that God will continually bless our churches and leaders.  The country is under stress due to the government. They will have new elections in September and the Christians are praying that godly men will be voted into office.  President Chavez will not be voted on until 2012.

Happy Birthday Jesus Offering is being sent to the different fields.  Thank you again for these funds that will make such a difference to our project needs throughout our mission fields.

NigeriaBrother Joseph Seibere wanted to give thanks for the new church that was built from funds from the Oak Grove Church.  This picture below is of a worship service in the new church.  Joseph states in his cover letter “The only house we can build for Jesus is the one we build for his churches.  While we are building His house here on earth, He is building a house for us in heaven.”  Thanks again for all your support for the work of the Lord on foreign fields.

Happy Birthday Jesus Offering - We have received $24,696.83 through January 20th on the HBJ offering. We would like to thank you for your generous offering to this most worthy project that helps build churches on each of our foreign fields. Each National Director looks forward to receiving this offering so that they can encourage a project need on their field.  If you haven’t received your offering yet there is still time to get the HBJ offering to the Resource Center as we will keep the account open until mid February. May the Lord bless you for all that you do!

Nicaragua– It is with great sadness to report that Anna Padilla, wife of our National Director Johnny Padilla, who had fought cancer for over two years died in early December.  She was a constant help to her husband in the ministry.  She also was a pastor of a local church and served on the women’s ministry team in Nicaragua. This is a great loss for Brother Padilla and his family. Please keep him and his family in your prayers as they move on in the work in Nicaragua.

Venezuela– It is with great sadness to report that Monico Soublet our National Director in Venezuela died on December 25th after fighting a large brain tumor in 2009.  Our hearts are broken for his family and the ministry in Venezuela.  He was a great leader whom the people loved very much.  I will be traveling to Venezuela in February to work with our leadership there on a process of choosing a new National Director.  Please be in prayer for his family; the work of the ministry there in Venezuela and for the selection of a new director.

Haiti’s Fund ReliefThe Pentecostal Free Will Baptist church has again reached out to those in great need for Haiti.  We have already received offerings across our denomination for Haiti Relief Fund.  Since we don’t have any works in Haiti, we are working through the Church of God Mountain Assembly.  The Church of God Mountain Assembly is one of the four denominations that meet each year for our annual Church Leadership Conference in Pigeon Forge.  This fine organization has 63 churches, eight orphanages and four schools in Haiti.  Every dollar we send will go directly to meet the current needs of the people in Haiti and especially among the churches and their families that experienced this great disaster.  Please keep them all in your prayers.

Thank Youfor your support for each of our mission outreach ministries, for the Faith Promise gifts that go to support the works on our foreign fields, and for all the project needs that you supported last year.   Also thank you for your prayers and financial gifts to help us in planting churches in the U.S.

Project Need from Nick SicatIn 2010 the Leadership in the Southern Philippines are moving their Youth Camp to a piece of property about sixty miles from Davao City.  They have spent weeks already clearing the land, flattening out one of the hilltops and they are seeking to develop buildings for the camp.  They need new tents and many other items for this camp that they have been envisioning for years.  They need an additional $3,000 to see this event take place this year.  If your church could catch a vision to help them it would be such a great blessing.  Please donate online or contact Dock Hobbs or Amy Murphy if God touches your heart for this project at 1-888-668-9362.
